When the Virgin Mary is no longer with us, we from Medjugorje will ask ourselves where we were all this time, visionary Vicka Ivankovic-Mijatovic foresees. We parishioners have received a great gift and mercy, but we are not aware of it, and the pilgrims need that we are, the visionary adds.

Medjugorje’s local citizens have far from all fully grasped their own role and importance with regard to the Virgin Mary’s apparitions in their parish, and self-inspection will follow when they end, visionary Vicka Ivankovic-Mijatovic says.
“It is certain that we parishioners have received a great mercy, a great gift, and we are not aware of this. We must be an example of how you receive mercy so that, through us, the pilgrims can recognize that. When Our Lady is no longer with us, we will ask ourselves where we were all this time” Vicka tells the local news portal Medjugorje Info.

“The parish must be an example for others. We should be happy for every pilgrim who comes to Medjugorje, and be even happier when the pilgrims come back with all their heart and soul. Not only because of Our Lady’s presence here, but also because of us, as hosts for the pilgrims. So that, through us, they can recognize the Virgin Mary’s face and her love, and be able to spread it everywhere they go.”
“One cannot say that we did not respond, but surely not as much as Our Lady asks from us. Our Lady says that if we knew how much she loves us, we would cry of joy – but we are still far away from that joy” Vicka says.
“We parishioners must be instruments for all those who come to our parish. We must make an effort to respond with the heart to the message that Our Lady gave us, and we all have to feel that responsibility. If we try, everything will be easier.”
