The Virgin Mary asks for prayers for the media, desiring them to work for human dignity and peace, Medjugorje visionary Ivan Dragicevic told on November 4
Media should work for other purposes than most media do at this point, the Virgin Mary recently told Medjugorje visionary Ivan Dragicevic.
Ivan told about the message to hundreds of people gathered for his apparition at the Betania II Marian Community in Medway, Massachusetts, a town outside of Boston, on Sunday.
“It is not surprising that a couple days ago, the message from Our Lady particularly asked that we pray for the media. That they be promoters of peace, that they be promoters of dignity, the dignity of man” Ivan said.

The seer stressed that media have a powerful influence in affecting families and culture, especially in harming young people.
“The media, from the written and electronic, what have you, the internet, all of that, more and more is destroying young people in the world today” Ivan said.
The visionary also explained that it is a false perception to hold up the world of modern technology as a vehicle of hope with which God is replaced, as too many people do today, creating a false idol.

“My dear friends, this world today, this world in which we are living, this modern world, this world of modern technology, civilization, cannot offer us a future. It will not give us peace” he said.
Joan Crowley, a teacher who drove up from New Jersey to be present for Ivan’s apparition, agreed about how harmfully today’s media affects young people, especially in matters of sexuality and dismissing Catholic moral teaching.
“And there has been a great increase in pornography, too, because of the media. And the children are seeing immoral things presented as if they are moral, and so they grow up with these visualizations or facts about homosexuality, or whatever the case, as if this is normal” she said.

Sister Maria Rios, a member of the Sisters of Mary Reparatrix, was pleased that Ivan spoke of the media.
“I was glad that he mentioned the media, because the media is the one that is reaching the whole world so we should pray for the media” she said.
Like Crowley, Sister Maria sees the way that the media promotes pornography as a major problem harming many families.
“Some people are sending it [pornography] to every house, every home” she stressed.
